It started during the pandemic. The MA courts issued an emergency order, forcing all court hearings and arraignments to be held via video conference. Now, State Representative Alyson Sullivan has filed a bill that would make the practice permanent, by statute. Norfolk County Sheriff Jerry McDermott has signed onto the measure.
